The third installment of a genealogy how-to series I’m making. I’ve been doing genealogy for over half of my life, and have a database with over 69000 people in it. I’ve also hardly spent a penny on it. I have found that free software and free databases are just as useful as the expensive genealogy services. This episode details how to use the free website www.rootsweb.com to search for ancestors. Mostly, I use the “Worldconnect Project”, a huge database of individual databases that are uploaded by people and cross-referenced and indexed for searching.
